The task corner overflow item controls which of these teensy icons appear or not. Corner items can be enabled or disabled here, mostly for laptops and tablets. So you see shortcuts to search, task view, widgets and the chat feature. This area controls items in the center part of the taskbar. Right click on a blank part of the taskbar and choose Taskbar settings. To control their visibility, you must adjust the taskbar settings. The rest of the notification icons would appear here, marching single file, such as OneDrive here, or you'll see them on the overflow. By the way, if you want to access a specific item here, say Set sound settings, you right click and then you can access Sound settings or right click on Network to access Network and internet settings. Click Done when you're done to update the quick settings. Click the Edit icon, choose Add, and here're some of the other buttons you can add to the quick settings, such as a screencast, access a projector, all these items. You have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, airplane mode and so on. This quick Settings panel gives you access to some handy system settings, similar to the old Mobility Center. If you click them, they share a common popup. Battery would be here on a laptop and you see volume and networking but these icons act as a single button. In fact, the Windows + N keyboard shortcut pops up both the calendar and the notifications, if I had any. This item replaces the old slide in notification board. But also, if there were notifications, they would appear up here. Click on the date and you see a popup calendar as before. This appearance is where the similarities stop. You have the time and date, volume, network, there'd be a battery item in here for a laptop and then you have notifications icons for various programs that are running. At first glance, these items look identical to Windows 10. On the taskbar, the notification area is off to the left.
